The physical therapists (PTs) at Charleston Pediatric Rehabilitation provide evaluation and treatment for children from infancy to adolescence with a variety of medical and developmental concerns. Physical therapists work with children and their families to assist each child in reaching their maximum potential toward functional independence and participation in their home, school and community environments. This partnership with families allows PTs to establish meaningful goals and provide interventions that are developmentally appropriate in a child-friendly environment. As health care providers, PTs use their expertise in movement to improve a child's developmental and functional abilities in the areas of mobility, balance, strength, and coordination.
Our therapists coordinate care among providers including speech therapists, occupational therapists, referring physicians, community programs and school systems. Whether your child is being treated for a temporary condition, such as sports related injury, or a long-lasting condition impacting his/her ability to walk or play, our team of physical therapists can create a plan that address your child's unique physical needs.
